Introduction to Resource Efficiency Training
Resource Efficiency Training
Learn how to establish, run and measure a Resource Efficiency programme in your company.
Resource efficiency or, as it used to be known, waste minimisation involves making the most of available resources such as raw materials, water and energy to minimise waste. When a business takes action to become more resource efficient, it leads to them using less material and effort, thereby reducing costs for production and waste disposal. Resource efficiency is not just about the operation of industrial processes. Decisions made at the design stage of products will have a major impact on performance during manufacture and use, whether the products are consumer goods, industrial equipment or buildings.
When implementing ISO 14001, it is often too easy to focus on writing procedures and forget that the fundamental objective is to reduce impact on the environment. Resource efficiency is all about reducing impact and delivering that all important, year-on-year, continual improvement programme.
