Manual Handling Instructor Training
Course to become a Manual Handling Instructor
Carry out your own in-house manual handling training
If any member of your staff has to lift or move anything at all at work, you may have to provide manual handling training.
If you don’t have a qualified trainer on your team, you can bring in an expert to deliver training or you can send your staff out to a recognised training provider.
But there is another alternative. Why not consider training one or more of your staff to Instructor level? You could then provide training in-house.
Manual handling instructors must be appropriately trained in accordance with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations.
Instructors must show an understanding of employers / employees legal duties. They must also know all there is to know about the training requirements of these Regulations.
They have to fully understand, and communicate effectively to trainees, the impact of bad lifting techniques. They should be able to demonstrate correct procedures and use of lifting aids.
Too many companies are finding out the hard way the costs of not providing this training. Most people respond well when they are treated well. Be a wiser and safer – and more productive and profitable – employer.
