Course on Directing Safely
Make sure your site is run efficiently, profitably and safely
Directing Safely is aimed at those Senior executives or directors whose remit is to make sure that their sites are run as efficiently, profitably and safely as possible.

Health and safety issues are a hugely significant part of running a company. So it is essential that those at the top are up to speed with current regulations and also that they pass it down accurately to the appropriate personnel.
They need to have some knowledge and understanding of the moral and legal aspects of health and safety practices. They should understand the need for proactive management in this field, and they must be able to give guidance on effective risk management. Senior management are increasingly held responsible for accidents at work. It is becoming imperative that they take health and safety issues seriously. The days of paying ‘lip service’ to legislation are long gone.
Benefits of practical guidance
But it’s not enough to know the theory. You need practical guidance to develop the system that is best suited to your company. You need to know how to be sure you and your organisation are compliant with current legislation. and you certainly need to know how to identify potential causes of accidents and be able to plan for effective prevention.
You should also understand the importance of consulting and communicating with your workforce in respect of health and safety issues.
You also need to know how to gauge what works best. and last, but by no means least, you need to be aware of the effect of the ‘human element’. Are your employees the best suited for the job you want them to do?
