Health and Safety Services

'Select' and 'Select Plus' Retained Health and Safety Service Packages

These fixed cost services are ideal for those companies who do not have their own in house health and safety professional and those companies looking to supplement their in house health and safety department with additional expertise.

The 'Select' service package is designed to meet the needs of companies who are low risk or who require minimum ongoing support to comply with their duties under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (duty to appoint competent assistance).

The 'Select Plus' service package builds upon the foundation elements of the 'Select' package and enables the client to 'Bolt On' additional services tailored to suit their particular needs.

The services typically include annual audit, periodic visits, policy review/development, fire risk assessment, serious accident/incident investigation, telephone/email support and advice, liaison with enforcement agencies, periodic updates on legislation, monthly HS&E newsletter and discount off selected training courses.

Unlike similar services offered by our competitors, our retained packages are designed to provide you with consistency of consultant and a meaningful value for money service that addresses your needs on an ongoing basis.

For further information on these services please contact us via the Contact Us page or on any of the telephone numbers/email addresses on our Home page.

Policies and Procedures
We can assist you with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance your existing health and safety management system and aid with legal compliance, insurance requirements, progress towards OHSAS18001 and CHAS entry requirements.
OHSAS18001 Health and Safety Management System
We are able to carry out a gap analysis of your current compliance status with the recognised health and safety management system OHSAS18001 and prepare an action plan to work with you in the development and implementation of any necessary improvements to meet the stringent requirements of the standard.
Risk Assessment
Risk assessment has been a legal requirement for over a decade and yet there are still many companies who are having difficulty in carrying out suitable and sufficient risk assessments in order to be legally compliant and protect their employees. We can assist you with hazard analysis and risk assessment and also train your employees to carry out risk assessments (see Training Services page).
Accident Investigation
Every year millions of pounds are lost to UK businesses through accidents and occupational ill health at work. Employers and their insurance companies are facing hefty compensation claims for accidents that they are unable to defend. One way of helping to reduce this burden is to carry out thorough investigations into accidents and cases of occupational ill health in order to define the root cause and put in place corrective and preventive action. We can assist you with your accident investigations and also train your managers and supervisors to carry out effective investigations (see Training Services page).
Health and Safety Audits
Like any other business management system, health and safety management systems require ongoing evaluation of effectiveness. This can be achieved through planned auditing of the system (a requirement of OHSAS18001). Our network of Associates have extensive auditing skills and can provide a thorough audit of your health and safety management system and also train your employees to a standard where they can become your in-house auditors (see Training Services page).
Fire Risk Assessment
As with risk assessment, the requirement to carry out a fire risk assessment has been a legal obligation for a number of years. Every year businesses are destroyed or seriously affected by fire. Our fire specialist has many years experience and has carried out fire risk assessment in a variety of workplace environments including forges, factories, warehouses, offices, schools, and shops.
Occupational Health Surveillance

Health surveillance is not only a legal requirement under certain health and safety legislation (e.g. Lead at Work Regulations, Asbestos at Work Regulations, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations) but it also makes good business sense. Screening out potential future claimants will help reduce the burden on your insurance premium whilst ongoing health surveillance can be valuable in spotting the early signs of any occupational disease or condition. Our occupational health specialist has many years experience and has carried out health surveillance in a wide variety of industrial environments.
