Environmental Policies and Procedures
Use policies and procedures to reduce environmental impact
Do you know how to reduce your environmental impact?
Having an environmental policy just isn’t enough these days. It needs to be supported by robust and enforced procedures. Do you know how to write those procedures and train your staff in implementing them?
You might want to reduce your impact on the environment, but do you know what it is and do you have any idea how to reduce it? Would you know how to measure it to check that it has decreased?
Could you be more environmentally friendly?
Does your business use raw materials? Do you know where they come from? Do they meet with current standards? And do you know what current standards are? How much waste do you produce? Do you recycle waste? Could you do more? Are you recycling your waste in an environmentally acceptable way?
Are your staff helping your business meet it's environmental obligations?
How much knowledge do your employees have about environment issues? Do you really know? Have you ever checked? Have you provided training? Do you know how effective it was?
Even if you are an environmentally aware business owner, are you sure you meet all current standards and obligations? Do you know what the fines are for being non-compliant? There are very few, if any, acceptable excuses these days.
If you know the answer to all of these, well done! But that’s only the start – there’s a lot more to think about. Unless you are a big business with specialist staff, you need outside help. That’s where Paul Craythorne Associates come in…
