Course on Hazardous Substances Awareness
Be aware of hazardous substances so you can control them

There are so many substances these days that are hazardous to health at work. Employees need to be aware of the hazards associated with those substances.
It’s also important that your staff understand potential risks. They need to learn about the controls available and you need to know what to expect from a COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) assessment.
The use of chemicals or other hazardous substances at work can put people's health at risk. This applies to clients and visitors as well as employees. To minimise this risk, employers are required by law to control exposure to hazardous substances.
Hazardous substances can effect employee productivity!
If someone becomes ill as a result of exposure to a hazardous substance, you may feel the results in the shape of lost productivity. You may be liable for prosecution under the COSHH regulations. And you could face civil claims from your employees.
However, if you take care to meet the requirements that COSHH has laid down, you are very likely to enjoy some positive benefits. When employees have a better understanding of Health & Safety requirements, they will be keener to see that the ‘rules’ are upheld.
You might even notice improved employee morale – and that can only be a good thing. Happy employees are productive employees. And productivity increases profits…
